School Year 2021-22

School Year 2021-22

Dear Best Academy Parents:

At Best Academy, we continue to value the health and well-being of our students, faculty, staff, and families as our top priority. In response to this ongoing pandemic situation with COVID-19 and the Delta variant, we diligently work to create new innovative means of educating our children and adapting to the changing learning environment. As a result of this effort, we have come up with three concrete options for our students and parents for this upcoming school year and beyond.

Fairfax Global Academy: online

Fairfax Global Academy is the sister school of Best Academy, accredited as a full-time virtual private school by Cognia/AdvancEd. FGA opened its door in Fall 2020 with the uncompromising belief that all of our students can and will achieve exceptional scholastic accomplishment in an online setting. We continue to implement our vision by offering progressive, challenging curricula for our students and working with the most nurturing, reputable, and accomplished teachers. FGA is a full-day private school where students can earn credits toward their high school diploma by taking virtual classes from the comfort of their own homes. All FGA classes for 1st to 8th grade are real-time, live instruction, five days a week, on a full-time basis, just like any ordinary school. All 9-12 grade classes are offered through the asynchronous platform with regular contacts with real teachers. Click here for more info ->

Best Academy Gifted and Talented Program (aka Thomas Edison School of Fairfax) (K-2): in-person (subject to change to online format if guided by the CDC or the State of Virginia)

Best Academy’s GT Program (aka Thomas Edison School of Fairfax) is also a sister school of Best Academy, a committed part of Washington Metropolitan community as one of the leading educational institutes teaching children for the past twenty-seven years. With leadership from years of experience and expertise gained from operating Best Academy, and in partnership with the University of William & Mary’s Center for Gifted Education, Thomas Edison School of Fairfax opens its doors with the clear objective of providing unique classes and learning experiences, particularly catering to gifted and talented children. To comply with the CDC’s social distancing guideline, we are going to limit the maximum number of students per grade level to 6 (as opposed to 10 in ordinary times) for the 2021-2022 school year. Traditional Best Academy Enrichment Program: online and in-person (hybrid)

All Best Academy’s enrichment classes will be offered via a hybrid platform throughout the next school year. The class format will be equivalent to that of our hybrid classes offered during the Summer Enrichment Academy offered through real-time, live instruction. Students will be able to choose from diverse options that include Creative Writing, Book Club, Applied Math, GT English & Math, TJ Prep, SAT, Coding, etc

Please feel free to contact us at any time for more information regarding each program. I personally welcome all parents to contact us with any questions or inquiries.

Again, let me express my sincere and deepest appreciation to all of our parents for entrusting us with their children.

All the best,

Matthew Lee, Ph.D.
Headmaster
