Afternoon special classes give students the opportunity to explore their interests in different fields. While academic progress and achievement are important to students' success, we believe that extracurricular activities help students to become more well-rounded and knowledgeable.
Chess
Chess reaps many benefits including raising IQ, developing creativity, and increasing problem-solving skills. With experienced teachers from Snow’s Chess Academy, our chess program teaches students how to play and prepares them for regional competitions.
Korean Level 1
Korean Level 1 is the beginner’s course to the Korean Language. This class will introduce the Korean alphabet, basic vocabulary words, reading, writing, and speaking. Through teacher instruction, partnered practicing, and fun projects, students will be able to share basic greetings, read and write words, and understand simple phrases after this 10 week class.
Korean Level 2
Korean Level 2 is the beginning level 2 class where students who have already been exposed to the language will sharpen and cultivate their writing, reading, listening, and speaking skills. Students will practice their speaking and listening skills by practicing and presenting a skit at the end of the 10 weeks.
Mandarin Level 1
Mandarin Level 1 is the introduction course to Chinese language. The class will distinguish the different tones, practice reading and writing characters, and learn how to hold simple conversations and greetings.
Mandarin Level 2
The level 2 class is for students who already know the fundamentals of Mandarin. Students will learn how to read, write, and apply new vocabulary words, put together sentences, and practice a skit at the end of the 10-week course.
Robotics
Does your child love to build and create? Best Academy’s 10-week Robotics program utilizes the newest technology and experienced instructors to teach basic robot building skills and concepts. All materials and computer programs will be provided.
-Students who are planning to stay for afternoon special classes after the morning session may either pack a lunch or order lunch. Lunch time will be from 12:00pm-12:30pm.
Homework Help
Homework not only helps students review class material but it helps students to have better time management, set priorities, and learn to become independent. Our Homework Help staff are trained to use personal instruction to teach and review concepts that students can apply back to the classroom. Students may enroll in one or both time slots.
